Finding your way home again with Hubpages and creative writing

Hubpages and Creative Writing helped me to find my way home again.
At sometime in our lives we all have to face some very difficult issues. The issues may involve tension and chaos with our families, feelings of lonliness, emptiness and isolation, illness and death, or our own mortality. Each of these issues can produce some of the lowest lows in your life. And when we are confronted with these issues, we may stumble and we may lose our way.
How we deal with each of these moments in our lives is an expression of ourselves and is how we will face all future events in our lives. It will be the platform that we will either choose to build from, and learn from that experience in order to continue to grow or the platform we choose to dive off of into a spiraling whirlpool of self destruction.
You can chose to curl up into a tiny ball under the covers in your bed and resolve yourself to never step foot outside your room again for the fear that you will experience another hurt like the one you are experiencing right now. (Fear)
Or you can take that fear with all your charge and cut it down to size until it no longer feels unsurmountable and then you can claim a calm that comes from roping the wind in the storm. (Conquer)
You push yourself to climb that mountain and scream at the top of your lungs that this pain will not beat you. (Anger)
Or you can choose to look inward at yourself like I did and pour outward all the emotions you are feeling into words. It has been my salvation. It is how I found my inner peace. (Find your way home)
When I found Hubpages I found myself. I was hurting and needed an outlet for my feelings. I started my first hub because of an issue I was dealing with at home. At first the words came slowly, then the words began to pour out. At times making sense to no one else but me. Random thoughts that I eventually put into sentences and then paragraphs. As I explored my thoughts and tried to find a way to put together a meaningful article that would be of use to others, I started to search the internet for common articles and by a miracle in itself I found solutions and counseling for myself.
That is what Hubpages and creative writing has done for me. It was a glorious feeling to be given such a tool as the Hubpages to help me express my feelings, and be able to work thru my own issues. I was suddenly sharing my own experiences with others, and I found out that I was not alone! Others were going thru alot of the same things and I was able to help them at the same time I was helping myself.
I had lost my way. For so many years I ran from problems thinking (or hoping) the problems would some how go away. I built walls between the people I loved to keep from hurting and from taking any responsibility or facing any blame for the things that were going wrong. Now that I have Ibegun to write about the social and personal issues that we all face in our lives I have learned to use the very tools I write about to help solve issues in my own life.
I have found my way home again. Thank you Hubpages for allowing me to express my thoughts thru creative writing.

Wow, great article. I'm happy you found a creative outlet. My best work was also during duress because you are already at your lowest and you don't have anything to lose so you give it your all. I really liked your article and I can really identify with what you are talking about. To bad I could only vote up once.

tsulliva, I have found the same as you and now that I have started writing (again) I am thinking of so much more that needs to flow out of me. Isn't it just the best feeling. Thank you for sharing
